With a huge passion for hattery she enjoys creating unique and theatrical pieces as well as beautifully designed couture statement pieces.

QEST AWARD

Rachael has just been awarded a scholarship from the The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust,  a charity supporting excellence in British craftsmanship. The prestigious award from QEST will fund approved further training for Rachael and will see her train with master milliner Dillon Wallwork to better her skills and learn about traditional model millinery. She will also train with Israeli milliner,  Maor Zabar, who specialises in working with modern millinery techniques used to create a diverse, theatrical aesthetic. Both courses will offer her the chance to develop and perfect her skills in these areas.

Rachael's work sees design in both contemporary styled couture hats as well as the more ‘off the wall’ designs, including her unique SS2019 collection which was made from locally sourced seaweed and beach litter. Previous work has seen the use of recycled plastic from regular household products and the use of lights within her hats.
